BCC's Statement to End Systemic Racism

When Black and Brown lives are systemically devalued by society, our outrage justifiably insists that attention be focused on Black and Brown lives.  When a church claims boldly "Black Lives Matter" at this moment, it chooses to show up intentionally against all given societal values of supremacy and superiority or common-sense complacency. By insisting on the intrinsic worth of all human beings, Jesus models for us how God loves justly, and how his disciples can love publicly in a world of inequality. We live out the love of God justly by publicly saying #BlackLivesMatter.

We need to continue to act with courage and commitment to end racial inequality. We are challenged to examine the ways racism is manifested within ourselves, our community, and confront it. We actively listen, challenge white fragility, and seek equality for all people. We stand in solidarity with the members of our community who routinely feel the weight of oppression, systemic racism, racial violence, and call for an equal justice system.

10:30am in the Meditation Glen

Worship is the heart of our life together. Our  worship services are multi-sensory experiences of music, story, and visual art. We offer a rich assortment of music. Visual art may include chancel decorations, dance and drama. Sermons provide moments of sacred story-telling in engaging, renewing and, at times, provocative ways. Due to COVID restrictions no nursery is available. We celebrate worship as a multigenerational family of faith. We honor tradition while encouraging new experiences and creative ways to praise God together!
