BCC's Statement to End Systemic Racism

When Black and Brown lives are systemically devalued by society, our outrage justifiably insists that attention be focused on Black and Brown lives.  When a church claims boldly "Black Lives Matter" at this moment, it chooses to show up intentionally against all given societal values of supremacy and superiority or common-sense complacency. By insisting on the intrinsic worth of all human beings, Jesus models for us how God loves justly, and how his disciples can love publicly in a world of inequality. We live out the love of God justly by publicly saying #BlackLivesMatter.

We need to continue to act with courage and commitment to end racial inequality. We are challenged to examine the ways racism is manifested within ourselves, our community, and confront it. We actively listen, challenge white fragility, and seek equality for all people. We stand in solidarity with the members of our community who routinely feel the weight of oppression, systemic racism, racial violence, and call for an equal justice system.

There are no auditions required at BCC. The choirs are open to all who wish to join. All choirs are directed by Rev. Lynn Hurst, Minister of Music, unless otherwise noted.

Consider joining the vibrant, musical life at Broadmoor Community Church, UCC!

All are welcome!

Music Intern Program

Our unique Music Intern program began in September 2004. Four Colorado College students were recruited from the Music Department to sing with our Sanctuary Choir and to provide additional music as a quartet or soloists for our worship services.

As this ministry has developed, our congregation has benefited from their energetic and enthusiastic leadership.
The Interns rehearse separately each week in addition to the Sanctuary Choir rehearsal. They have produced two CDs featuring the music they sing in worship.
